So much to unravel and just when the facts become clear, Sarah Pinborough messes with your head so just like Louise, we aren’t sure of anything or anyone anymore. Is there something more sinister lurking behind Adele and David’s marriage than Daniel’s adultery, what with all the talk of fresh starts and something terrible happening to a dog at the last place they lived? Then there are the flashbacks to Adele and David’s former life as teenage sweethearts and a fire in which Adele’s parents perished and she ended up in a psychiatric unit while David studied for his degree. And things are going to get messier still. David, the new GP, who Louise ends up falling for, the attraction mutual, until Louise befriends the beautiful and fragile Adele, who just happens to be David’s wife. Louise, a single mother, working part-time in a doctor’s surgery. ![]() So, the basic plot of Behind Her Eyes centres on three people.
